Everyday Qur’anic Arabic Programme
Alhamdulillah, Saturday’s session was truly a delight. It was fast-paced yet energising, deeply engaging, and thoroughly enjoyable. Mourad’s warmth and dedication shone through from the very beginning; his passion for the Arabic language is evident and incredibly inspiring. I’ve been wanting to deepen my study of Arabic to strengthen my connection with the Qur’an, and this module feels like the perfect opportunity to do so. Although the lessons move quickly, it’s immensely helpful that Mourad uploads the slides for us to revisit at home, allowing everything to settle in more clearly. I’m genuinely looking forward to completing the entire module, Insha’Allah, and continuing this meaningful journey of learning.

I have thoroughly enjoyed attending the Qur’anic Arabic class, where we focus on learning the vocabulary used directly in the Qur’an. The lessons are incredibly enriching and have helped me understand the Qur’anic text on a much deeper level. Our teacher is exceptionally engaging and keeps the class lively and inspiring right until the end. Their teaching style makes even complex topics easy to understand, and each session leaves me more motivated to continue learning. I am truly grateful for this valuable and uplifting learning experience.
— Sister Irum (29 Nov 2025), Everyday Qur’anic Arabic Course (Module 1)
JazakAllah khair for such a beautiful and inspiring session. It was genuinely perfect. Your passion and energy made the whole session engaging from start to finish. You went above and beyond, even providing refreshments and creating such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The way you teach, purely for the sake of Allah and as Sadaqah Jāriyah (صدقة جارية), is something truly special. May Allah bless it, put Barakah in it, and make it a continuous source of reward. Ameen. I really see this as the start of a long-term student–teacher relationship, Insha’Allah. Looking forward to the next session already.

(1) Mashallah I really enjoyed the first lesson! Usthad Mourad is clearly a natural born teacher and I have already taken away some useful lessons on pronunciation of Arabic letters. I really enjoyed the interactive aspect of the lessons too. There was an exciting mixture of teaching styles thrown in and I’m almost disappointed that it’s only 4 weeks duration. I wish it was more of a permanent programme as Mourad clearly is passionate and incredibly knowledgable. I enjoyed it greatly. Knowledge is like an addiction to me, I adore to learn and I will probably be in attendance at a lot of future modules/classes! It’s so incredibly refreshing to see that others have such passion about the same things as me. My enthusiasm mostly comes from the infectiousness of Mourad's passion for Arabic. And I fully intend to make the most of the opportunities that come afterwards inshallah.

(2) Having done the taster, the first class of the course did not disappoint. We went through the alphabet and discussed the importance of enunciation. I read Arabic but was never ever taught some basic rules which I learned on this course and we are only one class in! I have so much more to learn and excited about unlocking more treasures of the Quranic Arabic. This course was so valuable and very good value for money and I would strongly recommend it to anyone who is Muslim. It has certainly increased my thirst for knowledge! There is no judgement and everyone is coming from a different knowledge based background and material is provided. It’s fun and interactive and a great way to meet other fellow Muslims. The ambiance and Moroccan tea was icing on the cake!

I really enjoyed the session and I feel like it will be beneficial for me at the stage in learning that I'm at right now. Mourad’s teaching style is engaging and explains things in a way which is accessible for beginners and learners from all backgrounds which I really appreciate. Mashallah you both are doing great work.
— Sister Rachel (15 Nov 2025), Taster Session of Everyday Qur’anic Arabic Course (Module 1)
Attending the taster session was a beautiful experience. I felt welcomed, supported, and encouraged to grow. The calm, sincere, and structured delivery helped me reflect on my relationship with the Qur’an and how I can strengthen it in daily life. It truly feels like a great opportunity to connect with the Qur’an in a deeper and more consistent way. I also developed a deep respect for the teacher. His approachability, humility, and visible īmān were genuinely motivating. Knowing that he teaches at the University of Edinburgh inspires me even more, as it gives us access to high-level learning without having to go through the long process of enrolling in a full university course. It makes the journey feel both accessible and meaningful. May ALLAH (SWT) Bless the teacher's efforts and bless our journey into this course (Ameen).

It was really really very good!! I felt like I learned a lot! It was very valuable and I so look forward to the rest of the course! This is vital in recitation of the Quran and benefits us on our prayers and Dhikr of Allah and may be the difference between prayers being accepted and not. This forms the foundation of the Quran and sunnah to be able to pronounce properly and read the words of Allah as they are supposed to be read! I’m very very happy that this course is available and excited for it! May Allah bless you for making this possible for us and strengthening our journey in Islam for us! Thank you so much for both of you for coming up with the course and making this possible.

"With 17 years of experience teaching children aged 4 to 18 across over 20 schools in various countries, I have high standards when it comes to effective teaching. Mourad truly excels in this area. His teaching style is captivating, making you eager to learn more. I attended his Arabic lessons and found them incredibly engaging; I was never bored. If you're considering learning Arabic, I highly recommend Mourad's sessions. It's definitely worth it!"

"Your inspiring session is, indeed, proof of your fine mind. I also loved the idea of Al Basmallah inspiring the person higher standards and pushing them to perfecting what they are about to engage in."
— Camilia, "Roots & Routes" Study Circles, Edinburgh
"This was a kind of life changing experience. I took my shahada at the beginning of COVID pandemic and for those years have been trying to learn about Islam, but yesterday’s meeting was like a glue for all the pieces of the puzzle in my head. I could go on with specific details but the most significant, was the one where the Quran is Tafsir for Al Fatiha. After Fatiha was broken down, and then thinking about what I already know (still not much) about the Quran it suddenly makes so much sense. It's now both scary and exciting to even try to imagine how much more there is to be discovered. Thanks for the session, and hope to have such days happen again, no matter what interval as long as it does continue into the future."
— Miron, "Roots & Routes" Study Circles, Edinburgh
I really appreciated the Arabic study circle. I think you were able to give insights and inspiration to everybody despite the different background and expectations. You and your wife are able to create a fertile ground to build community and at the same time you are spreading seeds of knowledge that represent the beauty of learning. I got that beauty yesterday. I loved the roots and connections between languages (English and Arabic) and Qur’an analysis. And the relationship with our everyday lives. Thank you 🙏 I can’t wait to come for the next circle. I will ask my other Muslim friends to join as well.
— Ariana, "Roots & Routes" Study Circles, Edinburgh
The session was alhamdulillah so educative and inspiring. The presentation was interactive and engaging. I really admired the methodology. We learnt a lot . May Allah bless the organizers and increase Brother Murad more know. As we also ask Allah for its continuity.
— AbdulKarim, "Roots & Routes" Study Circles, Edinburgh
I found the (Roots & Routes) session both enjoyable and informative. I did indeed feel more present in my prayers afterwards. The perspective that all subsequent chapters of the Holy Qur'an can be thought of as tafsir on Al Fatiha had a huge impact on me.
